Letter from the Board
Dear Huntington Village Unit Owners and Residents,
It is hard to believe that we are over halfway through 2023. It has been a productive year for our community. While the feedback from the current Board accomplishments have been extremely positive, there is still more to accomplish. Thanks for all your support and kind words!
Greener and Cleaner!
In the past year, we have increased the maintenance of our landscape and the benefits have been paying off. We now enjoy newly trimmed trees and bushes Ray has been diligent in weeding our stone walls and mulching our common areas and responding to general maintenance requests. Many thanks to Ray and his team!
Big To Do over Doggy Doo Doo!
We have made great strides in keeping our lawns greener and cleaner with our six newly installed doggy stations. However, we need to increase our diligence in cleaning up after our pups. If you have dog walkers (including husbands, wives and children), please remind them to clean up after your pup. Also, no trash in the doggy waste cans, please! Thank you for your help!
Cable Czar
Ren Angle is now serving as our unit owner liaison (more informally, our cable czar) to Comcast to oversee that the cable wires, monitor market for new cable providers/alternatives and other projects for the duration of our extended two year Comcast contract. If you have any cable concerns/ideas or want to help him, please send via the maintenance request portal and we will forward to Ren. Thank you, Ren!
The Pool is Open!
We are enjoying our favorite amenity, the community pool, for the first time in three years! Many thanks are due to Chris Bridge and Jimmy French for keeping the pool open and supervising our cleaning and pool maintenance crews. Do not forget that we have newly restored bathrooms for your use at the side entrance of unit 133 while you are enjoying our pool. Again, thanks to Chris Bridge for overseeing the bathroom renovation.
HVUOA.com
Upon our farewell to Association Specialists, we created a website at HVUOA.com and hired a team to manage the day to day needs of our community as of July 1st. We recently introduced them via email and snail mail on June 30th. We hope that you will be able to attend our September 20th board meeting so you can meet them in person or via zoom.
Recently, we have updated the website to provide guidance to living in Huntington Village for new residents. Check this area out at hvuoa.com!
Nominating Committee
Finally, Jane Debutts and Fred Vogel have graciously agreed to serve on the nominating committee. Thank you, Jane and Fred! If anyone else would like to serve or run for the board at our upcoming elections in October, please email the board at hvuoa133@gmail.com.

Proudly serving you all,

VDOT Wants Your Input
The Commonwealth is partnering with Albemarle County, the City of Charlottesville, the University of Virginia, the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission, and RK&K to develop targeted improvements for the U.S. 250 (Ivy Road) Project Pipeline Study that minimize community impacts and address priority needs in a cost-effective way. This study is expected to be complete in summer 2024; it does not set construction dates for any improvements. The final plan will provide a multimodal investment strategy that can be used to seek and secure funding through programs including SMART SCALE, revenue sharing, interstate funding, and other sources.

To give your input to VDOT, please complete this survey, which has a translation tool for other languages, by August 18, 2023. Wildlife Report
We are always mindful of the safety and well being of our neighbors! Our security company shared with us that on their nightly patrols, a few coyotes have been spotted. While coyotes prey mainly upon our abundant rabbit population, elsewhere they have been known to be after small cats or dogs. Our security company has made a few recommendations when walking your pet at night:

1 Make some noise if you spot a coyote (like jiggling your keys) .
2 Carry mace.
3 Carry a small flashlight.
